PE and Sport Premium 2024/2025
In the 2024/2025 year, Netherhall Mead Academy received a PE and Sport Premium grant of £16520. This funding is used to make additional and sustainable improvements to our PE curriculum and wider opportunities for pupils.
Netherhall Mead Academy is a specialist school supporting pupils with complex, profound and multiple learning needs. Key Priorities for 2024-2025:
1. Increase physical activity for all pupils
2. Improve staff expertise particularly Rebound and MATP
3. Broaden the Physical Development curriculum offer to improve participation
4. Increase competition for all pupils with a focus on enjoyment
5. Ensure changes are sustained
Impact:
The funding has had positive impacts on:
- Increasing staff confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport
- Significant increases in pupil engagement, particularly for those with PMLD
- Improved physical development outcomes, including coordination, balance and mobility
- Enhanced staff expertise, leading to higher quality teaching
- Greater breadth of provision, including inclusive and novel sports
- Teaching is now more consistent and confident across the school
- Programmes are embedded within curriculum planning, ensuring long-term sustainability
